This special project started off with a simple discussion. We wanted to give a different experience to each child during Chidren's Day, thus, we included batik making. Now this project also serves as a thanksgiving to God's faithfulness in these 68 years of Maris Stella Kindergarten. Our kindergraten has been blessed with thousands of students, provided with all our needs and always protected from all harm. These beautiful batik hearts symbolize the many people who has been part of a long 68 years. The love and care each teachers, staffs, and children has given and received while in Maris Stella Kindergarten. As they bring each of their batik heart home, we pray that they carry the love and values they have learned here and shared it in their families and communitities. The sessions are called "MeTime" series and facilitated by Sr Susanna G, FMM, AThr. Each Friday, the participants tried one exercise of mindfulness using art. The goal is to promote self-awareness and thus able to better care for one soul, mind and body. |
