Today we are especially grateful to be able to gather again in St Francis Hall to have our morning assembly together after a long 2 years and 2 months! We are excited and so are the children. We pray and hope this will continue...
Our kindergarten was invited to take part in "Echo From The Past", an art exhibition for Catholic Kindergartens as part of the Catholic200SG festival in 2021. The Catholic200SG was a year long festival to celebrate the 200 years of the Catholic Church in Singapore. The exhibition was held between 4-11 December 2021 at the Good Shepherd Cathedral.
Above are the children working in batches of 4/5. Sr Susanna, FMM facilitated a conversation between the children about what they feel and think about the Church. After the conversation, the children began to freely created their individual artwork using a buffet of art materials provided at a table. Their teacher then harvested the children's thought about the artworks created.
These were the 15 artworks submitted to the organizer. 5 of them was chosen to be displayed on the exhibition day.
Above is the video clip of the exhibition. 200 artworks were selected and exhibited.

Maris Stella Kindergarten participated in the 'Start Small Dream Big'. ‘Start Small Dream Big’ movement was initiated by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) in 2015 to encourage pre-schools to create platforms for children to give back to the community. It was first launched as part of SG50 and the 15th anniversary of President’s Challenge, as an annual series of fund-raising and volunteer activities. Participating centres design and implement community service projects for children over a period of six months.
